Clear skies ahead for Manchester Service Station
The new owners of Marland Service Station in Manchester were recently assisted with raising specialist funding to purchase the business.
Stuart Pawelczyk, Associate Director at Christie Finance, has recently helped arrange funding for a wide variety of forecourt operators. The latest of which is Clouds One Ltd, who have purchased their first petrol station.
The lead company director had five years general retail experience but no forecourt experience, with one other director having experience managing a petrol station in Pakistan. This proved an interesting challenge for Stuart, when pitching the proposal to selected specialist lenders but with his sector expertise, he was able to secure the necessary funding for the client from a High Street Bank.
The business was sold by specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co. Marland Service Station was owned by the previous operator for over 15 years and is situated on a busy road between Rochdale and Manchester City Centre.
Stuart guided Clouds One Ltd through the whole financing process even overcoming the issue of demonstrating overseas forecourt management experience to interested lenders.
Commenting on the deal, Stuart said, “I am delighted that I could help the Directors of Clouds One Ltd find the right funding facility to purchase their first service station. Lender confidence to support first time forecourt buyers continues to remain strong across the UK, However, you need to demonstrate the right skills to access the most competitive rates and that’s where a broker who knows and understands the forecourt sector, such as us, can help.”
