Fenwick Pharmacy in North Shields sold to current owner's son
Mark Fenwick has recently purchased his parent’s business, Fenwick Pharmacy, with competitive funding successfully secured by specialist commercial finance broker, Christie Finance.
Established in 1990 and relocated to its current premises in 2000, the pharmacy dispenses c.5,100 items per month. The business is located in North Shields, eight miles east of Newcastle with customers predominantly residing in the local area and registered at local GP practices.
Mark worked in the business as a locum and will now take over from his mum Clair as the full-time pharmacist. Initially Mark’s focus will be promoting additional services such as MUR’s and NMS’s, once established in the role other avenues will be considered.
Mark graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2006 and later received a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy from Queens University in Belfast. He proceeded to gain valuable sector experience working in various NHS Trusts and Hospitals in the North East.
Craig Dickson, Director at Christie Finance worked with Mark to secure funding for his first acquisition. He comments “Mark was first introduced to me by my colleague Karl Clezy at Christie & Co. We are independent brokers enabling us to take a whole of market approach in securing funding. Mark and I were able to discuss his requirements and approach a suitable lender who offered him a highly competitive deal. I wish Mark the very best in continuing his family’s legacy at Fenwick Pharmacy”.
